Account Deletion Policy

DocVault gives you full control over your data. You can permanently delete your account and every document you have uploaded at any time, directly from the app or website — no phone call, no support ticket required.

1. How to delete your account

From the app or website (recommended):

  1. Sign in to your DocVault account.
  2. Go to Delete My Account.
  3. Tick the confirmation checkbox and tap Delete Everything.

By email:

Send an email from your registered address to support@docvault.in with the subject line "Delete My Account". We will verify and complete deletion within 7 working days.

2. What gets deleted

  • All uploaded documents and their extracted text.
  • AI-generated summaries, document types, and merge suggestions.
  • Your profile (name, avatar, onboarding state).
  • Your login account and authentication credentials.
  • Activity logs tied to your user ID.

3. What is retained, and for how long

  • Encrypted backups: purged on the next rotation cycle, within 30 days of deletion.
  • Email send logs & suppression list: retained for up to 180 days to comply with anti-spam and audit obligations. These contain only the email address and message status — no document content.
  • Anonymised error logs: retained for up to 90 days for service reliability. Personal identifiers are stripped.

4. Confirmation

Once deletion is complete, you will receive a confirmation email at your registered address. After this point the action cannot be reversed and the same email can be used to create a fresh account.
